Michael R. Gottfredson
Michael Ryan Gottfredson[1] is the current provost and executive vice-chancellor of UC Irvine. He has been affiliated with the institution since 2000.
Biography
On 11 June, 2012, it was announced that he was the sole finalist for the position of president at the University of Oregon. He will be confirmed by the State Board of Higher Education on Friday.[2]
Self-control theory of crime
The theory was developed by Travis Hirshi and Gottfredson.[1] The criminological theory proposes that lack of individual self-control is the main factor behind criminal behavior.
