North American leg

Mexico is not part of South America, but of North America. This needs to be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Estygias (talkcontribs) 17:58, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tour Name

The official tour merchandise currently being sold by Live Nation cites the Tour as being named 'MDNA 2012'. The title of the page should reflect this.

According to Madonna.com, the second performance in Vancouver is being performed at the BC Place Stadium, not the Rogers Arena. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.169.102.78 (talk) 17:58, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think the tour is called The Madonna World Tour. It seems to be popping up everywhere. —Sticky&Sweet12 (talk) 09:41, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that is the title, that's what confirmation e-mails are saying when you pre-order tickets from her website. MusicFreak7676 TALK! 01:58, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is the official title of the tour. I'm not going to get into an edit war over it though. 76.98.223.32 (talk) 06:31, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A press release called it The Madonna 2012 World Tour. Israell (talk) 13:12, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Its officially called Madonna 2012 World Tour on madonna.com [1], they were apparently going to call it MDNA World Tour but there maybe problems in some countries using that name for a live performance due to the drugs reference (Rumour). This page needs to be moved to the official name. 2012 Communicate|Nicely 14:55, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have a problem with that, seeing as how the tour is also confirmed to take place in 2013. Madonna ALWAYS has these amazing names for her tours, it seems as if they just haven't officially announced it yet. Most places are just referring it as her "2012 world tour". Status {talkcontribs 01:00, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so I read up a bit about it, and apparently it doesn't have an official name. I say we just go by Madonna World Tour as the common name for the tour, assuming next year its also gonna be promoted as "World Tour 2013". Status {talkcontribs 01:37, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are at least 2 errors on Madonna's official website. It shows her playing Vancouver, BC US (first error, BC is a province in CANADA, and is absolutely NOT in the USA) at Rogers Arena on Sept. 29. It goes on to Sept 30 and has her playing at BC Place Stadium. Ticketmaster contradicts this and shows Rogers Arena as the venue for both shows. It would be safe to assume that Ticketmaster is correct as they handle the ratio of tickets to stage set-up and would know the actual venue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boytoy77 (talkcontribs) 00:30, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is the Kiev date in there. It has not been announced and not official. Someone please remove. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boytoyville (talkcontribs) 03:36, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as how her website only calls it the "2012 World Tour" I think the page has to be moved to that location. — Status {talkcontribs 18:31, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to Dutch website RTL the world tour is called "Girl Gone Wild Tour". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.113.241.224 (talk) 10:32, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Madonna confirmed the name of the tour on Twitter during her first chat session and confirmed it again during the secongd session. Her manager, Guy Oseary, just tweeted: "Going to MDNA rehearsals now.. have a good day.." Guess it's another confirmation. Israell (talk) 20:40, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The tour's official name is The MDNA Tour according to Live Nation and tour poster in Argentina. Bluesatellite (talk) 11:52, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The posters and tour books say: The MDNA Tour 80.135.172.47 (talk) 14:02, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Stade de France is not in Paris. —109.15.53.218 (talk) 21:59, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So be bold and edit the article accordingly. Zarcadia (talk) 11:58, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Moving page

Can we keep stop moving this page until there is official confirmation of the tour title please. The last move to Madonna 2012 was completely unnecessary and nothing official has been confirmed, it was only mentioned in a round-about way in the article it was referenced from. Madonna herself said in an interview on Sirius radio that she "keeps changing the title", so until we get it confirmed can we please keep it on the common name 2012 World Tour. Thanks jwad.... blah | blah | blah 16:29, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Songs?

Shall we start putting up a list of confirmed songs such as "Girl Gone Wild," "Revolver" and "Gang Bang"? Or is it too early and better wait for the tour to start? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.66.83 (talk) 00:11, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Its too early as setlist change. We shall wait until the tour starts or we get a setlist from the official tourbook, if its released prior to the tour starting. jwad.... blah | blah | blah 17:21, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Opening acts

Quick question guys, do you think it would be better if we moved the opening acts from the 'Tour Dates' section to it's own section like we have done with the Sticky & Sweet Tour and other previous tours? —Sticky&Sweet12 (talk) 13:10, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all. I've said this many times already. The support acts depend on each show. S&S mostly had the same for each leg; while this tour doesn't. It is a perfectly acceptable way to show them. See, for example U2 360 Tour. — Statυs (talk) 02:34, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fake Tour

Is it really appropriate to have information about a fake tour that was circulated by a fansite in this article? Paul75 (talk) 12:01, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Israel May 29, date

This show was cancelled according to Madonna.com. The only show scheduled in Tel Aviv is on May 31, 2012. This date needs to be delete from the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.138.105.185 (talk) 17:59, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be mentioned that Madonna had announced a second show in Tel Aviv on 31 May, which was cancelled when the opening show was rescheduled from 29 May.--MsigDK (talk) 10:46, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article is Move Protected for 2 weeks

I have protected this page from moving for the next 2 weeks due to move warring by multiple parties. Any admin is welcome to override this without further permission if they feel it is needed, although post notification is appreciated. This action should not be taken as an endorsement of the current name. I would direct all parties to discuss the article name HERE at the talk page, using both reliable sources and keeping WP:MOS in mind. I will not be participating or watching, and only posting to inform all interest parties of the reasons. Dennis Brown - © 00:37, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Set list

There are plenty videos of her performing the songs from the tour, why isn't that reliable? Alecsdaniel (talk) 17:24, 31 May 2012 I Agree that makes no sense. Wikipedia is annoying. Post the damn set list already! It is confirmed damn it!

Samples, versions

The version of "Give Me All Your Luvin'" on the tour it's the Just Blaze Remix. Also on "Justify My Love" there's elements from "Waiting", a song off her 1992 Erotica album.

Citation problems with set list

The current reference for the set list is "MDNA Tour Opening Night – Live Report from Tel Aviv" from the fansite Madonnarama. There is no author listed, just two photographers named. The source is therefore not reliable, per WP:RS. I understand the Madonnarama website to be self-published, per WP:SPS.

The Madonnarama set list is bare bones, so it does not support the additions of parenthetical statements such as "contains elements of 'Material Girl' along with excerpts from 'Give It 2 Me'" which were added to the song "Girls Gone Wild". The source, such as it is, only says "Madonna appears on stage and performs 'Girl Gone Wild'". It does not say there were elements of "Material Girl" or "Give It 2 Me". I have therefore added the maintenance template about original research, a practice forbidden by the Wikipedia policy WP:No original research. Binksternet (talk) 18:03, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tour name

The tour name is The MDNA Tour - source: posters, tour book and merchandice.--Red-Blue-White (talk) 23:42, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've said before and tried to move it several times, but a user < Itsbydesign (talk · contribs) > insists to name the page based on his point of view. He even didn't bother to discuss here. The tour's official name is "The MDNA Tour", according to Live Nation official site, tour poster, tour book. I don't want to make edit warring anymore. I've given up, let him do whatever he wants. Edit request on 3 June 2012

The following line is incorrect: "Like a Virgin" (contains excerpts from Abel Korzeniowski’s "Evgeni’s Waltz")

Please change it to: "Like a Virgin Waltz" (combined with Abel Korzeniowski’s "Evgeni’s Waltz" from W.E.)

Reason: "excerpts" is incorrect. Madonna sings the melody from "Like a Virgin" on top of "Evgeni’s Waltz". The resulting new song's title is "Like a Virgin Waltz".

Interludes/Acts in the setlist

the interludes in the setlist are on the end of each act, but the interlude is the beginning of every new act in the show. the interludes should be write in the beginning of the acts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.182.19.167 (talk) 11:37, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not according to the source. — Statυs (talk) 16:33, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
An interlude is between acts. See entr'acte. Binksternet (talk) 15:16, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request on Commercial

Madonna did not sell 11,000 tickets for her first show in Abu Dhabi, that is actually not said in the reference included. She did not sell 19,000 for both shows as stated in this section, and it is not listed in the references included either. Madonna sold 25,000 tickets per show according to emirates247.com [2] This section should reflect real facts. Thank you. Frozenpower (talk) 10:12, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reception

The article should include that the tour has received universal acclaim from critics and commentators. A major publication even went as far as to mention, "it is the greatest show on earth". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefaithmonster1 (talkcontribs) 01:38, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why is it that whenever people actually have valid points such as this with sources for Wikipedia the editors never/rarely respond and if they ddo its months later but when their points are ludicrous they get an instant reply?

Beginning of the rehearsals

in the article is may 1st the begin of the rehearsals. yes in the nassau coliseum, but the rehearsals has been before in NYC and began so much earlier! february or march is the official beginning.

87.182.37.241 (talk) 11:22, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that's right. The staged rehearsals began May 1st but they were rehearsing already in March, I think. 83.250.130.133 (talk) 19:23, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conan O'Brien documentary

Hi, I deleted the section "Broadcasts and recordings" because there is no proof of a Conan O'Brien documentary. Some online newspapers said that, but I also read that he is has a humoristic and a satirical show... Why whould he make a documentary about Madonna? Plus, he made a fake documentary during Madonna's halftime show, I think there is nothing more... Now if you have official information about the 5 videos that where shoot during the first show in Tel Aviv, put them in the article.
