Assat is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France. Located at the foot of the Pyrenees at an altitude of 210 m, it stretches out over 9.47 square kilometres. As of 2005, there are 1506 inhabitants. This old little bastide was built at the end of 12th century. Gaston Fébus lived there.
