The 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be the 85th edition of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, is bidding to host the game.[1] Although typically the leagues rotate hosts every year (with 2014 being the American League's turn), Chicago is hoping an exception can be made for Wrigley Field to honor their ballpark's centennial (1990 was the last time Wrigley hosted the All-Star game).[2]

Though the host cities for the 2014 All-Star Game and 2015 All-Star Game have yet to be formally announced, MLB Commissioner Bud Selig indicated during the press conference for the 2013 All-Star Game that the decision for the next two host cities had already been made when he said, "I'll wait on `14 and I'll wait on `15. I know where they're going." He went on to say that because the All-Star Game is used to determine home field advantage for the World Series, he is reluctant to interrupt alternating All-Star sites between the leagues, suggesting that the 2014 game would be hosted by an American League team and the 2015 game would be hosted by a National League team.[3]
