Overwrote Redirect

This used to redirect to penile subincision. An article on the surgical procedure is more appropriate, as the pages linking here were of a medical rather than sexology nature.Snowpanda (talk) 11:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Additions to article

I added a description of the procedure, post-operative instructions, and follow-up information consistent with the current standard of care. If anyone has recommendations for improving the added information, feel free to contact me via Wikipedia email.PA MD0351XXE (talk) 04:15, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am contemplating whether to add a description of the procedure for those with multiple strictures, and those with multiple misaligned strictures. The pros and cons appear "fuzzy", and I am unsure how much information can be gleaned versus the benefit of any such additional effort. Any input/recommendations please email me.PA MD0351XXE 02:39, 18 November 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PA MD0351XXE (talkcontribs)

Will work on adding citations from individuals and NIH studies at my earliest opportunity, specifically concerning the "controversy" section.PA MD0351XXE (talk) 20:03, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth...

In thirty years of practice, I have performed some 730 - plus urethrotomies. The work which I have done with regards to this article mirrors the current standard of care, and the most up-to-date information as gleaned from medical publications. I resisted the urge to include so-called "tribal knowledge". This article now reflects practices common to the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. For those considering having the procedure, please research all available credible sources of information, and discuss them with your urological surgeon.PA MD0351XXE 09:05, 9 November 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PA MD0351XXE (talkcontribs)
