Circle in the Square Theater

The Circle in the Square Theater is a Broadway theatre in New York City. It opened as The Mansfield Theatre on February 15, 1926 with a performance of The Night Duel. Today, it houses the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The theater is also associated with and houses a professional acting conservatory.

The rather small theater (seating capacity 623) is located under the Paramount Pictures building and shares its entrance with the George Gershwin Theater.

Note, this is not the original Circle in the Square Theater, originally located in Greenwich Village area of New York City. As it was a theater in the round and near Washington Square Park, the theater name was derivative of that fact.
