The result of the proposal was move. Andrewa (talk) 11:40, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Her name is Lucy Ricardo, McGillicuddy is her maiden name, at best it would be Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo, not this bastardized version. Corvus cornixtalk 23:05, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Done. ''[[User:Kitia|Kitia]]'' (talk) 23:10, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- No, undone, don't do cut and paste moves. In addition, when you do a move, you need to make sure that the Talk page gets moved, as well. Corvus cornixtalk 23:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, she should be "Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo" not this version, its wrong. It should be fixed as soon as possible. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 22:54, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Lucille Ball
I am surprise to see no link to Lucille Ball. Is that an oversight, or some protocol? Alan Davidson (talk) 06:55, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I've added an {{in-universe}} tag. Thee needs to be a lot more tie-in to Lucille Ball, the history of the show, etc. Corvus cornixtalk 21:45, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
After I Love Lucy
After I Love Lucy
Lucy was on other shows like The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy named Lucy Carmichael and Lucy Carter but really its all the same Lucy.
It seems this should be removed or somehow fixed.El Gonz (talk) 16:39, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- My WP:ORIGINALRESEARCH also concludes that Lucy Carmichael and Lucy Carter are in essence the character Lucy Ricardo. I believe secondary sources can be found to reference an encyclopedic discussion of that, but currently the matter is poorly discussed in this article. --→gab 24dot grab← 19:10, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Merger proposal
I don't think Lucy Ricardo is notable alone. In the show, all she does are getting herself into trouble, such as posing as Carmen Miranda, winning a horse and hiding, hiding incubating chicken eggs, and pretending to be a princess of a non-existent country, but always gets caught by her husband Ricky (or not noticed luckily by him). Even Ricky is not notable himself, except when he attracts ladies and gets Lucy jealous, and even he tries to be a famous musician. All Ricky and Lucy did are driving each other crazy, such as attempting to make each other nuts at a lousy camping trip, especially with Ethel Mertz brough along, getting themselves locked up with a handcuff, and... many more? Even real-world reception doesn't help at all make me believe that they are individually notable. What do you think? --George Ho (talk) 21:30, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's clear that what we need to do is create a proper article about Little Ricky. He doesn't seem to have one. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:20, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- How strong would Little Ricky article be? To be honest, Little Ricky is not that notable alone; in fact, he looks cute and a little more involved, but that's it. There must be real-world commentary about these characters, such as Little Ricky. For instance, the pregnancy of Lucille Ball would be an example, and reception, as well. --George Ho (talk) 04:52, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose merge to Ricky Ricardo, as both subjects are individually notable. Incidentally, I support creation of List of I Love Lucy characters, but would not merge this there. --→gab 24dot grab← 19:04, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- How so? In or out of the show? If they are both individually notable, then how can we write separately about both of them? For Casting, Lucy plays a housewife and picked Desi as a husband. I am talking content, not notability, am I right? --George Ho (talk) 19:08, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Lucille Ball's "Lucy" character has been discussed ad infinitum for a half-century in mountains of secondary works, to the point that I will do something I've never done before: simply cite WP:SNOWBALL. I recommend against it, but if you want to unleash the firestorm, create an RfC on the matter. --→gab 24dot grab← 19:20, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Umm... Per WP:articles for deletion/Ashton Kutcher on Twitter, "WP:What Wikipedia is not" policy may triumph WP:notability and subject guidelines. Would articles of Lucy and of Ricky repeat each other? Well, if not, Lucy is a gay icon, but how does that benefit encyclopedic value of an individual article, regardless of notability? Ricky is mentioned as a Latino to be laughed at. Ricky is also called this way. The plot elements... well, does inclusion of Lucy's adventures with Ethel help? If so, there must be an episode about women that does not involve men (indirectly or directly). An episode about women's employment at a struggling dress shop is an indirect involvement because men don't find out about this. --George Ho (talk) 20:07, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know you well enough to know if you're just joking here, but...if you're serious just open an RfC and stand back. --→gab 24dot grab← 21:56, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Not until the move request is over. --George Ho (talk) 22:08, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Move. Jafeluv (talk) 12:39, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo → Lucy Ricardo – She is always called this way during the show. As for the merger proposal with Ricky Ricardo, let's leave this out of this renaming proposal, as this can be discussed in #Merger proposal. --George Ho (talk) 22:54, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Support move from 'Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo' to 'Lucy Ricardo'. This article has suffered from a host of ill-advised names: Lucy McGillicuddy, Lucille Esmeralda McGillicuddy, Lucy Ricardo nee McGillicuddy, Lucy Ricardo McGillicuddy. Per WP:COMMONNAME, it should always have been titled "Lucy Ricardo". --→gab 24dot grab← 18:53, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
- Support. Clear WP:COMMONNAME case. I get 7 gnews archive results for "Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo" compared to 756 for "Lucy Ricardo" "I Love Lucy". Jenks24 (talk) 10:23, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
