I have a record that Western Province won the 1943 Currie Cup (if I remember, it's from the 1981 Guiness World of Sporting Records). It strikes me as strange that it would have taken place during World War II. Can anyone shed some light on this? Perhaps there was an unofficial tournament? what is the format of the 2006 season?

is it the same as previous seasons? plus have any fixtures been announced?
