Mediterranean quiche

In cooking, a quiche is a pie made primarily of eggs and cream in a pastry crust. Other ingredients such as chopped meat, vegetables and cheese are often added to the eggs before the quiche is baked.

Quiche Lorraine is perhaps the most common variety. In addition to the egg and cream, it includes onion, bacon and cheese (usually Swiss).

The word quiche is derived from the Lorrain dialect of the French language, and entered English in 1941.

In 1982 Bruce Feirstein's Real Men Don't Eat Quiche: A Guidebook to All That Is Truly Masculine was published. In 2005, the American-based Food Network listed quiche as the number one fad food of the American 1970s.

This is one way i find to make a great tasting Quiche. Firstly crack 2 eggs into a bowl and whisk nicely whilst adding a lucious bit of cream to the egg whip. I always find that aldi,s own fresh cream does the job nicely. Now leave this to one side maybe covering the bowl top to avoid crust or bugs getting into the mix. Then its time to make the delictible crust. You can buy pastory ready made in packs from your nearest supermarket or if not you can make your own. Now before we add the pastory crust to the egg and cream whip we need some great ingredients. Now this is wear i like to experimen with the ingredients. Some cheese you will defoe need (i find once again aldi to have great quality cheeses, especially ones that contain walnuts) this gives the Quiche its main flavour. Now some chopped meat maybe or peppers. Just make sure that if you do add meat that you cook it well done and maybe so it is a tad crispy this gives great flavour and great texture too. And im being serious here adding buufalo or even dogmeat thats right dog meat gives an overall great taste to your Quiche. Now once your peppers and vegetables and watever else you would like to try is chopped up put theese ingredients into your egg and creamm whip and stir for a minute or two. Now put on your pastry and put a couple of cuts into the top. A pattern even if you are artistic and then put in the oven to bake for about 20 - 30 mins at about 250 degrees farenheit. Just keep checking to see if the pastry has browned nicely. mmmmmmm can you smell that smells good doesn't it now once cooked simply cut it up and eat. Remember the more people your are cooking for the more ingredients you will need to add. I also think wedges go nicely with Quische and maybe an oriental "DIP" goes nicely too. So thats thats enjoy your Quiche and maybe some comments of what you thought about it would be rather nice. Please do add comments of anytype below.

                                            Thanks
