"First they came…"
is a famous statement attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group. The text of the quotation is usually presented roughly as follows:
First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Peaceful reminder to myself
Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, peoples rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension.

I responded on Dennis's page[1]. I absolutely accept you were working in good faith, and apologies for my note that I mis-typed - you'll see all on Dennis's page. However in fairness Buster7 all 3 users you selected were banned - it's not the idea that's the problem it's just where you started. I hope you understand that putting the comments of users (some of whom might be fanatstic ppl off-wiki) who are banned could come across the way I read it. But I'm sorry if I misunderstood your intention here--Cailil talk 20:00, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- I also responded on Dennis's page. We are all back to square one. I had forgotten about L'Aqua. Remembering now, I think she jumped into the deep end too quickly and started a ball rolling that resulted in my friend getting crushed. Anyway, Thanks for reaching out to me and I return my extended hand to you. ```Buster Seven Talk 20:22, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Retain new editors
Hi Buster7! Zad68 created some teams for Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention. He currently placed you on the "Retain new editors" team. Are you interested in being a part of it? EpochFail is the team leader, but he will be out for the rest of the month so we'll need to start with some organization. I created Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Editor Retention/Retain new editors so we can centralize discussion. The page may be moved around later on. In any case, I hope you would be happy to join the team. Otherwise, you can always check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention#Project teams for some other teams that might interest you. - Great! I usually find new editors via "recent changes", welcome them, and, if someone hits an early roadblock, I try to be a calming, forwarding voice in the midst of their plight (whatever it might be). Usually it's because they try to run before they crawl. The "WikiPedia Turnpike" is not a safe place for new drivers. Anyway. I'm on board and eager to work. ```Buster Seven Talk 21:32, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Welcome messages
Hi there,
You managed to leave welcome messages for two of the users I was training in a workshop today, while the workshop was in progress - well timed! Thanks for doing this sort of patrolling...
What's the template you're using? It's a lot more attractive than {{W-screen}}, my usual fallback. Andrew Gray (talk) 17:11, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the barnstar. I have a bunch of welcomes saved. The one you ask about is User:Buster7/Welcomes#WikiGuide Welcome. Its from when the WikiGuide project was active. Now, I pretty much do them one at a time. First, I edit the B7/Welcomes page by resigning which changes to todays date. Then I cut-n-paste and I go to recent changes and look for talk redlinks. I only welcome editors that are already doing some editing or have created a sandbox. I figure the chance of retention is a bit higher if they are already busy working on an article or in a sandbox. BTW...I'm curious...who were the users? If I'm not to rushed I look for new editors that may be in a "situation" and a friendly welcome will ease their perplexity. I find that many of the templates that new editors get are very BLUNT. I try to balance that whenever possible. Nice to meet you. ```Buster Seven Talk 17:45, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

Welcome to the Rollbacker and Reviewer Cabal!
Welcome to the Rollbacker and Reviewer Cabal, Buster7!
In case you forgot, we mainly coordinate on anything that requires a rollbacker or reviewer's attention.
Currently, we have two pages;
but we have more things coming up!
