You didn't build that is a phrase from a speech given by President Barack Obama on July 13, 2012. Republicans seized on the remark as indicative of Obama's support for big government.[1] Presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney focused on the remark in a new attack ad.[2][3] The Obama camp retorted by calling the attack "out-of-context."[4]
