Twin Lakes is a village located in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 5,124.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 18.0 km² (6.9 mi²). 14.0 km² (5.4 mi²) of it is land and 4.0 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 22.19% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 5,124 people, 1,973 households, and 1,390 families residing in the village. The population density is 366.4/km² (948.5/mi²). There are 2,742 housing units at an average density of 196.1 persons/km² (507.6 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.35% White, 0.37% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.57% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 0.96% from two or more races. 2.48% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,973 households out of which 35.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.0% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 29.5% are non-families. 22.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 3.05.
