Robert Beal (bishop)

Robert George Beal (born 17 August 1929[1]), an Australian Anglican Bishop. He was educated at Sydney Grammar School and the University of Newcastle, Australia, he was ordained in 1953 and served first as a curate at St Francis’, Nundah, Brisbane. He later held incumbencies in South Townsville and Auchenflower.[2] After this he was the Dean of Wangaratta and then Newcastle. Beal was also Archdeacon of Albury for the last two years. In 1985 he was ordained to the episcopate as the seventh Bishop of Wangaratta,[3] a post he held for nine years.

He died on 24 June 2009.[4]
