Kinetic 9 or Beretta 9 (born Samuel Craig Murray) is a member of the hip-hop group Killarmy, an affiliation of the group Wu-Tang Clan. He is a originally from Steubenville, Ohio. 4th Disciple, another Ohio native & the group producer of Killarmy introduced Kinetic 9 along with ShoGun Assasson to the group. Through hard work and determination, they became one of the earliest and successful groups that emerged out of the Wu Tang camp in the early 1990s. They went on to record three successful albums Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars (1997), Dirty Weaponry (1999) and their latest, Fear, Love & War (2001).
Kinetic 9 has worked closely with Wu-Tang Clan’s mastermind RZA to collaborate on some dynamic songs. He appeared on all three of RZA’s album. The second album Digital Bullet is where he exercised his valuable skills by appearing in many songs, i.e. the hit single ”La Rhumba”. Also, Kinetic 9 and RZA fused their talents on the track called “Take Your Sword" which was featured on Afro Samurai’s soundtrack.
Kinetic 9’s international efforts included touring with RZA. He also paired off with Killarmy’s ShoGun Assasson to be the headline of the successful European “Killa Bee” concerts, and paired with other Wu-Tang Clan affiliates. With the warm greeting and support of the European fans, Kinetic 9 plans on continuing and pursuing more overseas dates.
Not only is Kinetic 9 a performer, he has expanded his creative talents into producing. Kinetic 9 has finally started producing for brilliant artists such as Method Man and Wu-Tang Clan affiliates Freemurda with the hopes of making sounds for other rap lyricists alike.
Kinetic 9 is striving and ready to push his efforts towards a solo album. He recently[when?] dropped a mixtape “Kinetic Radio Vol 1” for his loyal fans, which is distributed and available at his shows. A re-mastered version will soon be available for order. And coming soon, Kinetic will drop another mixtape to keep his fan base enthused and satisfied. He is diligently working hard on his solo album for which he aims to highlight his individualism, but parallels the best sounds of his Killarmy and Wu-Tang’s genre.
He has appeared on tracks with artists such as Craig G, RBX, Reef the Lost Cauze, Mr. Bill, Scienz of Life, Block McCloud, Bizz,[1] Midas the Beast, Xavier Naidoo, Diaz, and others, as well as his other Wu-Tang Clan such as Cilvaringz, Inspectah Deck, RZA, Remedy, Gravediggaz, Hell Razah and Northstar. Kinetic 9 is closely associated with RZA and has appeared with RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard as a guest on the show America's Next Top Model. He is also a member of the project, Achozen.
