British Library Workshop & Tour, 10 September In the afternoon of 10th September, starting at 1.00, we'll be holding an open session in the British Library, to look at what's been done and what's coming up. If you've suggestions for what I ought to be doing as part of the residency, or things you'd like me to aim for in the next few months - please come along for a chat! Wireless and workspace will be provided. There's no set agenda for the workshop, so you're free to come along and find something to collaborate on. Some possibilities:
Following on from this, with the help of the English and Drama department here at the British Library, we've arranged a tour of the current Writing Britain exhibition for Wikimedians in the evening. We'll be meeting at 6 for a tour starting at 6.30. Hopefully, it should be suitable for anyone working during the day and not able to make the afternoon session. The exhibition closes later in September, so if you haven't yet seen it, this is a great opportunity to! The exhibition includes some particularly interesting items, as varied as the original manuscripts of Harry Potter and Middlemarch, and the oldest surviving text of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Later in the week, in the morning of Thursday 13th, Johnbod has arranged a tour of the British Museum's Writing Shakespeare exhibition - details here. Expressions of interest below please - especially for the tour, it'd be great to let me know in advance so we can arrange numbers. If you'd like to attend both sessions, please sign twice!
