After WWII, Germany disbanded any gendarmerie-like police forces. The key feature of a gendarmerie: They are part of the military and are allocated to the ministry of justice or the ministry of the interior just during peace time.ReinickendorferFuchs (talk) 10:21, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
