The 2012–13 season will be Chelsea Football Club's 99th competitive season, 23rd consecutive season in the top flight of English football, 21st consecutive season in the Premier League, and 107th year in existence as a football club. They will also compete in the UEFA Champions League, as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, having won the 2011–12 UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.

On 13 June 2012, Roberto Di Matteo signed a two-year contract, becoming Chelsea's permanent manager,[1] only being appointed as interim manager after the sacking of André Villas-Boas during the 2011–12 season.[2]
