Narang Mandi نارنگ منڈی is a town located in the Muridke Tehsil of Sheikhupura District, Punjab, Pakistan. It is a centre of many life facilities for nearby villages. Narang is renowned for its good quality rice, which is known throughout Pakistan.
Basic life facilities like health, education are present here. But though poor infrastructure of broken roads and limited Railways service hampers town development still it is a vibrant town of Kalar area.
Jutt and Rajpoot are the major family living in this area, having many sub-casts.Hanjra, Rana, Bhatti, Munj, Butter, Maan, Jathol, Saroya, Gill, Sandhu etc.
History
Historically Narang Mandi has been on the cross roads of ancient trade routes in Punjab leading to Delhi and other parts of Northern India. Before partition Narang Mandi was called Narang. The word Mandi was added after independence due to the establishment of a big Market (Mandi) of Rice and Rice Processing. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, because of the cross border tension this trade stature was very much lost. Mr. Muhammad Ghulam Sabir Mughal (1916-1999) is one of the founder of the Narang Mandi, who was born in Gurdaspur a city in the state of Punjab, situated in the northwest part of the of India.
Notable Personalities
Out of many known notable personalities, two have been nationally recognized journalists - Late Azhar Suhail and Athar Masood also belong to this city. It is important to note that both are brothers and were awarded with Pride of Performance which is the highest professional award presented in Pakistan. Some political personalities are Khurram Gulfam, Ijaz Sehol, . Mr. Iftikhar Ahmed Buttar and Muhammad Shahid Soroya who received an international award from SLA, USA are prominent personality of the city.[1]
Hospitals
There is only one Government Hospital in the town, with 2 beds emergency facility. But peoples are not satisfied with Doctors and hospital facilities. Three private hospitals Faisal Hospital, Dr. Aalia Sajjad's Hospital and a Dr. Adnan Clinic are also located there.

Railway, Buses, Wagons, Rickshaws (which designed by using Peter Engine), Horse carts and private cars also hired there..
Worship Places
Narang Mandi has approximately 25 mosques of different sects. i.e 10 mosques of Sunni sect, 3 mosques of Shiite sect, and remaining others.
Its also has UP Church, FGA Church, PGA Church, New Apsotic Church and Catholic Church. [2] [3]
Educational Institutions
There are manay education institutions, some are government and many are private schools and Montessori. There is 1 Girls Higher Secondary School and 2 are boys High Schools. There are also 3 colleges 1 for girls and 2 for boys.
