This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Thefourdotelipsis (talk | contribs) at 22:15, 1 May 2006 (Tuatara). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This is a new alternative to the traditions of WP:AID and WP:COTW. It is meant to be more relaxed and informal, so while it would be nice to get articles up to featured status, its main goal is to allow people to join in, knowing that there will be other editors active on the same article, which makes editing much more effective and fun!

/History - For completed collaborations.
/Removed - For removed nominations.
How it works
 1. Nominate an article, stub or even red link that you would like to work on, saying why it is important to cover that topic, and how many fellow editors you would like to attract. Attach JI to the talk page of the article in question.
 2. Anyone else interested can sign their name to show support.
 3. Everyone signed up will be notified when the requested threshold number is reached, and you can all work on the article together. The collaboration entry will be listed in /Active until the collaboration slows down. The entry will then be archived.
 4. An article will also be removed from the list if the nomination is three weeks old. (You should consider adjusting the threshold for this.)

This is designed to ensure that each article gets its fair amount of editors without focusing too much on any one article, and allows a rapid turnover of new articles to keep things fresh.

Beautifully simple. Here is a template for nominations:

ARTICLE
( 1 person, needs # )
:nominated DATE: Expires Date three weeks from now
::Editor requires # people to begin work.

 • This article has all the basic framework it just needs a lot of expansion on all of the sections. For example, even though the university was founded in 1841 there is only one paragraph in the history section. There are even relevant sections that don't even have any information. That is why I nominated it. Zipperfly 15:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • Shetland is a beautiful, unusual place, with a lot of political and agricultural history, as well as unique customs, and this article is pretty weak.

 • I discovered this article recently and have put a lot of work into it since. It has recently had a Peer review, and all it needs to become Featured is a bit of improving flow in the Anatomy section, some additional information about heart and brain, and most importantly, lots of references. If I had two helpers with access to a decent library (one with journal articles or books about the tuatara), it would be a snap. - Samsara contrib talk 19:03, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • this article about the crazy 60s/70s conspiracy/counterculture novel has been peer reviewed, with a comment that the plot summary needs to be expanded. has anybody read it, and can do the necessary? additionally, some expansion of the themes section (esp. a section about numerology and synchronicity) would be v.helpful. • Ok, guess I get to make the first nomination here. First of all, there is no athletics section. I made the athletics page over at Oregon State Beavers but haven't gotten around to making the athletics section on the OSU page that should obviously link there. OSU is one of only 2 Land, sea, space, and sun grant universities, and the only public one, so there is surely a lot more to say about it. The introduction and history could be rewritten and expanded immensely. The previous presidents list could be merged into the notable alumni section of the List of Oregon State University people page (also made by me), and the list of all degrees offered is probably out of date, and a lot more could be linked to the official OSU page on those topics. General cleanup and expansion is also welcome. I've made a ton of minor edits to this page but haven't had the time to do all the work I've listed above, would be great if someone wants to take this on with me. Also, feel free to suggest other additions/improvements on OSU's talk page. Thanks, VegaDark 04:16, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
 • It's very listy at the moment. I'd like to see expansion in the athletics section, and a cleaner overall appearance. It'd also be nice to see it expand out into new articles, such as departments, colleges, and notable buildings. Sarge Baldy 02:17, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
 • I think that the organization section needs a significant amount of expansion, and I'm not sure if the list of departments is the best way to present the university's organization. The student life section could also be expanded. btm talk 02:53, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
