Benjamin Johann Thomas (born August 28, 1926 in Dallas, Texas - died February 13, 1950 in [New York City, New York]]) is an American child actor who appeared in over 40 Our Gang comedies over 4 years.

Early Life and Career

Born in Dallas, Texas Thomas joined the Our Gang series at a young age of eighteen months and left at age 5 in 1931 after being replaced by Matthew Beard. Thomas left the series at age 5 in 1932. He then retired from acting and was sent back to public school after his mother died that same year.

Death

Thomas was shot to death by his parter on the morning of February 13, 1950. He didn't die until 16 hours later at 11:39 p.m. while he was in his hospital. He was 33.
