The Amethyst Sunbird, also called the Black Sunbird (Nectarinia amethystina), is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Gabon, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitat is dry savanna.
