Budgam District is a district of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It was formed in 1979.
==Administration== Budgam district consists of 8 blocks: Beerwah, Nagam, Budgam, B.K.Pora, Khan Sahib, Khag, Narbal and Chadoora.[1] Each block consists of a number of panchayats. The only airport in valley is located at budgam.Main tourist places are DOODHPATHRI,YOUSMARG,TOSAMAIDAN,NILNAG,MOUNT TATAKUTI,PEHJAN. Badgam district is subdivided into four tehsils:
==Education==
The literacy rate of the budgam is 57. 98 % as per the census 2011. The literacy rate of the budgam district is increasing which is evident from the census rate 2011 as compared to census 2001 (39.54 %). There are so many educational institutions who have contributed a lot for increasing the literacy rate of budgam district. Budgam has one Govt degree college, near Pallar Village.There are 98 schools in budgam both private as well as government schools, in which total number of Higher Secondary Schools are 33, Some of the best schools who have contributed a lot in increasing the literacy rate of the budgam district are as follows:-
(1)R.M.P. Higher Secondary School Budgam Kashmir is one of the leading, renowned and reputed higher secondary school in the kashmir valley, especially in district budgam. RMP HSS Budgam has contributed a lot in increasing the literacy rate of budgam district since 1990 and finally it has achieved the mission by producing I.A.S. Officers, Doctors, Engineers,Journalists, Lawyers and Successful Entrepreneurs. The schools is providing education from Nursery to 12th class having all streams Medical, Non-Medical, Arts and Commerce. RMP Higher Secondary School Budgam has shown 100% results since its establishment. It was established in 1990 by the renowned personality Mr. Noor Mohammad Wani(M.Sc Mathematics). He has contributed a lot in developing the budgam district since 1990. He has won so many International and National Awards. One of the prestigious award given by the (Chief Minister of J&K State, Jenab Ghulam Nabi Azad,in the year 2006) "Gandhian Award 2006" to Mr Noor Mohammad Wani at S.K.I.C.C. Srinagar (J&K). R.M.P. Higher Secondary School Budgam Kashmir is one of the best school in J&K State.It has always shown outstanding performance. Maximum toppers are always from RMP HSS Budgam in J&K BOSE Exams.
(2)S.S.M. Higher Secondary School Parraypora is also under the J&K Board of School Education sub- Office Budgam which has also contributed a lot in increasing the literacy rate of budgam.
(3) M.E.T Higher Secondary School Barzullah is historical school of kashmir, which is also under the J&K BOSE Sub Office Budgam
(4)Iqbal Memorial Higher Secondary School Bemina Budgam, has also contributed a lot in increasing the literacy rate of the bemina area of budgam district.
(5)Syed Ali Memorial Institute of Education Beerwah Budgam, is a higher secondary school and has contributed a lot to the society and is founded by Syed Abdul Rouf Bukhari and is affiliated with j&k BOSE and in 2011 SAMIE school grabbed first position in 10th class in kashmir valley
(6)Mazhar ul haq high school Beerwah Budgam, is a school founded by SIR SYED SANI MAWLANA SYED ALI SHAH in 1934 AND IT IS ONE OF THE OLDEST SCHOOLS IN KASHMIR VALLEY
There are so many others schools who have contributed in increasing the literacy rate but these schools have contributed a lot in increasing the literacy rate of budgam, which is evident from the census (2011) 57.98% as compared to census 2001 (39.54 %).
Politics
Budgam District has 5 assembly constituencies: Chadoora, Budgam, Beerwah, Khansahib and Charisharief.[2] MAWLANA SYED ALI SHAH BUKHARI ALSO KNOWN AS SIR SYED SANI AND CHIRAG-E-BUDGAM.HE CONTESTED ELECTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY TWICE FROM CONSTITUENCY BEERWAH,ONE ON BEHALF OF NATIONAL CONFERENCE(A POLTICAL PARTY IN KASHMIR) AND ONE ON BEHALF OF JANTA DAL(A POLTICAL PARTY IN CAPITAL NEW DELHI).
MIRWAIZ
MIRWAIZ CENTRAL KASHMIR MAWLANA SYED ABDUL LATIEF BUKHARI IS THE ELDER SON OF SIR SYED SANI SYED ALI SHAH AND IS THE MIRWAIZ FOR CENTRAL KASHMIR.,and Chairman for MILI-ITHAD J&K.HE IS FROM DISTRICT BUDGAM,TEHSIL BEERWAH.
SM MURTUZA BUKHARI
SM MURTUZA BUKHARI Is a grandson of SIR SYED SANI MAWLANA SYED ALI SHAH and son of Syed Abdul Rouf Bukhari and is considered as a rising star of BUKHARI family and sources claim that he will emerge as a poltical figure in district budgam following the footsteps of his grandfather.
