Kilbrickane
Appearance
Kilbrickane is a townland in the civil parish of Loughmoe East, North Tipperary[1].
The townland house, Kilbrickane House, was built in mid-19th century and is still in good condition. The 1911 census return indicates that it was occupied by the Cambie family[2], from whom it was sold to the Maher family in 1958. At the time of the sale, the road junction at the north-east corner of the townland was called Cambies' Cross by people in the locality. (The Cambies of Kilbrickane may have been connected to the Cambie (Camby) family of Lower Ormond, Eliogarty, Templemore, Killoran and Kilbarron[3].)
