Dolphin Capital Investors (LSE: DCI) is a real estate investment company focusing on the residential resort sector in emerging markets, and listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. It is one of the largest real estate investment companies listed on AIM in terms of net assets value (NAV), with a NAV of €713 million (as at 31 March 2012).
History
Dolphin Capital Investors was founded in 2005 by Miltos Kambourides and Pierre Charalambides, and was admitted to trading on AIM on 8 December of that year[1].
In 2007, the company acquired Aristo Developers[2], the largest holiday home developer in Cyprus.
Since its admission to AIM, the company has raised €900 million of equity capital.
Operations
Dolphin Capital Investors is a developer of seafront land in emerging markets. It invests in large sites in coastal locations in areas of natural beauty, which have potential for high end residential development and leisure integrated resorts.
The company has a total portfolio of over 63 million square metres of land and 59 km of seafront, comprising 14 large-scale resorts under development[3] in Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Turkey, Dominican Republic and Panama, and more than 60 smaller holiday home developments in Cyprus and Greece. Its partners are some of the world’s leaders in hospitality (including Amanresorts, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Kempinski, and Nikki Hotels[4]), architecture (including RAMSA, Designrealization, Denniston International, and John Heah) and golf design (including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Tony Jacklin, and Rees Jones).
The four flagship projects of the Company are The Porto Heli Collection, Venus Rock Golf Resort, Playa Grande Club and Reserve and Pearl Island.
The company has opened its first resort, Amanzoe, in the prestigious [[Porto Cheli|Porto Heli}} area of the Peloponnese, on August 1st, 2012.[5]
Dolphin Capital Investors is managed by Dolphin Capital Partners, an independent private equity firm led by Miltos Kambourides and Pierre Charalambides.
