Waves is the annual national culfest of the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani – Goa Campus. It is a three-day long festival held in the late October - early November period each year. The festival receives external participation of close to 2,000 each edition.
History
Waves was first held in 2006, when it was an intra-college affair. Since then, Waves moved on to being a regional festival, with many colleges from the Goa-Mumbai region participating. Waves went national in 2008 and in 2011 saw its biggest event, Sea Rock, having its elimination rounds in Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.
Events
Waves features a variety of events spanning the various categories of Music, Dance, Literary, Quiz, Drama and the Fine Arts. ‘The Big 4’ events of Waves, Natyanjali , Fashion Parade , Mr. And Ms. Waves and Sea Rock generally attract the biggest crowds.

Waves has previously featured the likes of KK, Kailash Kher, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Pakistani Rock act Raeth, Carnatic Rock band Agam, DJ Sidharth Talwar and DJ Suketu . The ‘Nites’ are usually divided into a DJ night, a Hindi night and an English night to cater to various tastes.
