Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School (LSRHS) is located at 390 Lincoln Road in Sudbury, MA. It is widely regarded as, "a different kind of place," as well as one of the premier public high schools in the state of Massachusetts. Its current principal-superintendent is Dr. John Ritchie.
The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District was created in 1954, and the doors of the Regional High School opened to students of both towns in 1956. Previously, Lincoln had not had its own high school; instead ushering its students into neighboring school districts, and Sudbury's rapidly expanding population was becoming too large for the old high school.
The original LSRHS has since been demolished and paved over to provide a parking lot for the new LSRHS, located next to the old building. Construction began on the new building in June, 2002, and was completed in time for the beginning of the 2004-2005 academic year.
In 2005, LSRHS had the nation's second ranked National Ocean Sciences Bowl team. In 2006, teams from the school won both the Department of Energy National Science Bowl and National Ocean Sciences Bowl regionals, carrying on the school's tradition of excellence in science. The LS NOSB Team placed first and second at their state regional cometition and will be representing the school in the national competition in Monterey, California. Recently, the school's DOE team won 5th place in the National Department of Energy Science Bowl, hosted by the United States Department of Energy in Washington DC
Lincoln-Sudbury is noted for its academic rivalries with Lexington High School and its athletic rivalries with Acton-Boxboro High School.
