Bovalino is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Calabria in the Italian region Calabria, located about 90 km southwest of Catanzaro and about 46 km east of Reggio Calabria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,406 and an area of 18.0 km².[3] Antonio Lentini, the Newburgh NY restauranteur, left Bovalino in 1909 and came to America on the SS San Giovanni out of Naples. He was born in San Vito sullo Ionio, in Calabria, in 1893.

The municipality of Bovalino contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bosco S. Ippolito (Template:Lang-el), Belloro, Russellina, Bricà, S. Nicola, Pozzo, Bovalino Superiore, Biviera, Rosa, and Cipparello.

Bovalino borders the following municipalities: Ardore, Benestare, Casignana, San Luca.
