Hi.
Hi. You have to be registered for a few days and have made ten edits on other pages before you can edit semi-protected pages. It is a defence against vandalism by new users until they prove reliable.--Charles (talk) 22:55, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:04, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Josh Groban's future plans
I reverted your recent edit at Josh Groban because the material involved a prediction from the future. Please see Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. We can't put into the biographies all the plans and promises made by a person on some talk show. It is just not worth an entry into the biography, until the album actually comes out. Otherwise, you could enter a theoretical statement by Groban that he is planning to read David Copperfield this weekend, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Dickens' birth! You can see how ridiculous this could become. --Skol fir (talk) 04:14, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Illuminations (Josh Groban album). Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. A forum is not a reliable source - see WP:RS Bob Re-born (talk) 06:05, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!
The Original Barnstar | |
hello sola$$$$$$$$ (talk) 20:39, 3 March 2012 (UTC) |
- My only comment here is -- "The Original Barnstar -- This barnstar, the first on Wikipedia, is given to recognize particularly fine contributions to Wikipedia, to let people know that their hard work is seen and appreciated." Apparently, you, Sola2012, think very highly of yourself (this Barnstar was self-appointed!). Be careful of arrogance. Humility would be better. --Skol fir (talk) 18:19, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 20:57, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Your edits to Doo-Wops & Hooligans have been reverted again. Please do not add http://www.musicharts.net/ as a source, or content cited with it. It is not reliable. It's content is not based on any sales tracking system like Nielsen SoundScan (Billboard (magazine)) If you still insist, ask at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. It's simple enough to understand and helps us clearly recognise when and who commented. Thanks. --Chip123456 (talk) 19:45, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Please do not include the United World Chart (www.mediatraffic.de), or any other charts listed at WP:BADCHARTS, in any Wikipedia articles. This includes sites that reproduce the chart, such as musicharts.net. Thank you.—Kww(talk) 16:36, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
Britney Spears
I'll continue to remove any poorly sourced or inaccurate data that you add to articles. In general, you cannot source sales to certifications, because certifications are based on shipments, not sales. Your earlier edits on the article, like this one, weren't providing any real reference at all.—Kww(talk) 13:00, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 29
Hi. When you recently edited Back to Black, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page OCC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

RE: Score
I'm having trouble understanding what you're saying. What "score"? And what does RIAA's certifications have to do with how much this album sold? Certifications by the RIAA are an indication of demand rather than individual sales. Where in the RIAA citation does it say "1 million sold"? After an album sells a certain amount, retailers request more copies to sell, thereby amounting the number shipped to however much the certification implies: gold for 500,000 shipped to them, platinum for 1 million, etc. The list of music recording certifications clarifies which countries/recording organizations use sales of the album or shipments to retailers as their basis for certifications. These certifications are merely used as awards for the artists and record labels. If some users edit articles and cite an RIAA certification as how much an album sold, then that is original research and they are mistaken, which is not verifying the sales, but something similar to it. Billboard uses Nielsen SoundScan, a sales tracking system, while RIAA does not. Dan56 (talk) 17:52, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Adele
I converted the ref from German and as far as I could see it said nothing about the number of album sales. Happy to add my comments to the talk page, but if the ref is back, it won't stay for long. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:16, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
- Actually I saw it this time, obviously something wasn't working properly before. But I think you should provide a reference in English before adding it. Paul MacDermott (talk) 21:24, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
- I suggest you read WP:CIVIL before your next posting, and my request for an English reference stands. I Googled "Adele" "50 million", but nothing is jumping out. Paul MacDermott (talk) 11:55, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- If you read my comments above you'll see I did translate it, but missed the paragraph on the first occasion. What I'm asking you to do, however, is to find an English reference as these are preferable for the English Wikipedia. I have no idea whether faz.de is regarded as a reliable source or a tabloid, but for this information to be included you need a reliable source. That could be something like New Musical Express, The Times, The Guardian, The New York Times, BBC News, RTE News, The Los Angeles Times, and so on. Generally sources such as The Sun, The Daily Mirror, The Daily Star, etc, should be avoided. If you can find a high-quality source then the information can be included. BYW, I removed your posting of the article from my page because that is against WP:COPYVIO rules. It is fine to quote a few sentences from an article, but not the whole thing.
