Mbaise is a city in southeastern Nigeria. It's towns are gradually developing into citiies and it is set in the heart of the Igboland. Mbaise sits in a rain forest and produces many important agricultural products such as yams, cassava, corn, groundnuts, palm products and rubber from Amaokwe in Nnarambia Ahiara in Ahiazu L. G. A. It is the home of the best paint Industries in the Country and has a Nail Industry in Ogbe Ahiara.Mbaise currently has a population of 2.5 million

Important educational institutions in Mbaise include the Old Pater Noster in Ekwereazu, Mbaise Boys Secondary School, Ekwereazu Girls Secondary School, and the Famous Ahiara Technical Collage. The city is also home to the Matter Ecclesia Catholic Cathedral Ahiara, one of the city's town Ahiara has the largest number of Reverend Fathers in the World after Scotland.

Like many other Nigerian cities, Mbaise is currently facing unemployment and crime.

Mbaise has more than 32 Kingdoms; some of the finest traditional Igbo regional monarchs or Ezes that Mbaise had includes Eze Cyril Unanka(Nna anyi Cyril) of Amuzi Mbaise, Eze Boniface Okoroanyanwu of Obohia,Eze Onyekwere of Nnarambia,and a host of others.

Mbaise Currently has three local governments Ahiazu, Ezinihite, and Aboh Mbaise. The name "Mbaise" was derived from the original five communities namely Ahiara, Ekwereazu, Aboh, Ezinihite and Agbaja(comprising of Okwuato and Enyiogwugwu).
