About Me

Education

  1. Ralph Thoresby School. (2003-2010)
  2. University of Hull Scarborough Campus studying Theatre and Performance. (2010-2013)

My Current Work

I am a third year student at the University of Hull Scarborough Campus studying Theatre and Performance. I am currently working on a Wikipedia article on the work of Helen Varley Jamieson for my semester 1 module - Applied and Interactive Theatre 2. In this module so far we have covered the topics: What is Digital Performance; Tactical Media and Activist Practice and also Guerrilla Performance and Hacktivism. Aside from the Wikipedia article on Helen Varley Jamieson, I will also be doing a performance in December 2012 using aspects of an on-line performance platform such as UpStage or Second Life.

The page I am working on can be found at Helen Varley Jamieson.

My final dissertation project for my third year centers around the notion of collaborative autobiographical performance and the responsibilities one has to 'the other' in a performance. I am hoping to do a 25 minute performance piece to demonstrate my research findings.

National Student Drama Festival

I volunteered at the National Student Drama Festival (NSDF) in 2011, 2012 and I am volunteering again in 2013; hopefully in a managerial position. I am very passionate about this festival, I think the experience gained and contacts made are invaluable for young people. With the government cuts to arts funding, this festival is essential for getting young people interested in the arts again.
