Air Côte d’Ivoire is an airline based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The airline was formed on 15 May 2012 as a partnership between Air France, the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED). Air Côte d’Ivoire is owned by the government of Côte d’Ivoire (65%), Air France (20%), and Aérienne de Participation-Côte d’Ivoire (15%), an airline holding company of AKFED. The airline will have international routes, primarily to and from Central and West Africa, beginning at the end of July 2012, and domestic routes at the end of 2012. Côte d’Ivoire lacked a national carrier after the collapse of Air Ivoire in March 2011.[1]
The airline will have "technical, commercial and operational synergies" with Air Mali and Air Burkina, two other airlines associated with the AKFED.[2][3] The airline was expected to have 13 flight captains, 12 first officers and 37 cabin crew.[4] The company projects to have a passenger capacity of 330,000 per year.[5]
Fleet
Air Côte d’Ivoire will operate with two Airbus A319s acquired from Air France.[2][6]
