The Ockendon Academy[1] (formerly The Ockendon School) is an academy school in South Ockendon, Essex. It has a specialist status in Mathematics and Computing. In April 2009, the school became designated as a Training School.
The Headteacher is Mrs Barbara King, who won an award for her leadership skills.
In August 2010, the school received the highest pass rate in its GCSE examinations to date, with 96% achieving A*-C grades.
January 1, 2011 saw The Ockendon School officially become The Ockendon Academy.
