Bennett Greenspan is an entrepreneur and lifelong genealogy enthusiast. He founded Family Tree DNA, a Houston, Texas company dedicated to using genetics for personal ancestry, in 1999. He presently serves as its President and CEO.
As part of his involvement in genetic genealogy, Greenspan has given well over a thousand talks, lectures and interviews to various organizations both public and private. He helped revolutionize the way genetics is used by public genealogists in providing privacy of testees, projects, programs, support and cost effective DNA testing. He has lead the way with teaching the implications of DNA testing through education and Genomic counseling for genealogists.
Greenspan is also one of the group administrators of the Israelite Samaritans DNA Project. In April 2006, Greenspan stated, in regarding to DNA,[1]

Family
Greenspan's father was Maurice I. "Bud" Greenspan (October 2, 1926 - July 16, 2009) who served with the U.S.Army's 43rd Infantry Division in the Pacific during World War II. "Bud" married Rosalie about 1951 and had the following children;[2]

Bennett Greenspan was born in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Texas in 1980. He graduated from the University of Texas. He received his M.B.A. from Rice University.[1]

Family Tree DNA
Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), founded in 1999, operational in April 2000, is a commercial genetic genealogy company based in Houston, Texas with its partner laboratory, Arizona Research Labs, housed at the University of Arizona. Family Tree DNA offers analysis of autosomal DNA, YDNA, and mtDNA to individuals for genealogical purposes based on DNA samples collected using a cheek swab method with a kit supplied by Family Tree DNA to its customers. All samples once submitted are stored at Arizona Research Labs for future testing and archiving of DNA samples collected from family members.[5] In February 2009, Family Tree DNA announced that they, in partnership with the National Geographic Genographic Project, have tested over 500,000 kits.[6]

DNA Ancestry & Family Origin
DNA Ancestry & Family Origin[9] is a genetic genealogy testing partnership between Family Tree DNA and Eastern Biotech & Life Sciences. Their website is available in both English and Arabic.[10]
iGENEA
Family Tree DNA has a European partnership with iGENEA.[11] Their website is available in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.[12]
myHeritage
A dynamic partnership with myHeritage was launched in November 2008. myHeritage is a genealogical and family social networking website that produces online and PC based genealogy software.[13]
