For example, in the Canadian Jamia Ahmadiyya, there are currently students from Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, India, Pakistan, and Palestine who were born and raised in those countries and came to Canada to enrol in the Canadian Jamia Ahmadiyya.
Career Opportunities
Students of Jamia dedicate their lives to the cause of Ahmadiyya Islam upon completion of the 7-year Shahid Degree in Islamic Studies (or 4-year degree), and are sent to various parts of the world including South America, Africa, North America, Europe, Far East and others, at the appointment by Mirza Masroor Ahmad, present worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
They are completely under the direction of the Khalifatul Masih and are financed by the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community worldwide, as per their dedication to the service of the cause.
Jamia students may become (upon appointment by the Caliph) either Missionaries of Ahmadiyya Islam (often called Murrabi, Imam, or Mawlana) or as Qadis or Muftis of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community with a specialization in matters of fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence). Some Jamia alumni have also become Islamic historians such as the late Dost Muhammad Shahid, former Official Historian of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, with a specialization in tarikh (Islamic historiography).
Jamia alumni must stay with their career choice appointed to them by Khalifatul Masih for the rest of their lives, as per their dedication to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
