Marmalade SDK is a cross platform, software development kit from Ideaworks3D Limited[1] that contains library files, samples, documentation and tools required to develop, test and deploy applications for mobile devices.

The SDK features BlackBerry PlayBook support[2] since August 2011[3]. Marmalade SDK development is active with Microsoft Windows 8 support plans in October 2012[4] and iOS 6, iPhone 5 support announced in November 2012[5].

Marmalade SDK has been criticised for its C++ language choice, lack of multithreadin and minor appearance integration issuesg[6]. However the downsides are characteristic for other third-party SDKs with native OS platforms being advantageous but not portable[7].
