Virsad is named after the Vireshwar Temple at the western end of the village.
The village is located at an altitude of N22.23 and at a latitude of 72.47.
Virsad covers 4.3 square miles. On the northeast end of the village is a 34-acre talav (lake).
Virsad is located in Borsad County in the state of Gujarat. This village is part of the Charotar area.
