Leigh Lezark (born July 26, 1984) is an American DJ and model, best known as one-third of the New York City-based DJ trio the Misshapes.[1]
Career
Lezark was born and raised in New Jersey. She moved to New York City to attend Hunter College and two weeks after beginning school met Geordon and Greg K. They started The Misshapes. The DJ trio toured the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. They have also served as supporting DJs for some of music’s biggest stars, including Courtney Love, The Killers, Debbie Harry and Bloc Party. She is also on the album cover of Dying to Say This to You by The Sounds, standing beside Alexis Page.
With Geordon and Greg K, Leigh has produced compilations and runway music for Chanel, Calvin Klein, House of Holland, Visionaire, L.A.M.B., Cynthia Rowley, Teen Vogue, Tory Burch, Moët et Chandon, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and Sotheby’s.
Lezark has been featured on the covers and inside pages of magazines such as, Mixte, City, Crash, BPM, Vogue (Turkish, American, French, Australian), Full of Herself, Self Service, V, Nylon, New York Magazine, and Vanity Fair. Leigh walked the runway for Henry Holland during London Fashion Week. She has appeared in advertising campaigns for the Gap and for Roberto Cavalli for H&M, alongside Jessica Stam and Lydia Hearst. She can currently be seen in the ads for Hogan. The Misshapes also were photographed by Helena Christensen in ads for the ONE Campaign, which works to end world poverty and fight global AIDS by taking photos of celebrities and people who want to be celebrities.
She appeared on the cover of July-August edition of Italy’s Urban Magazine.[2][3] She has also received praise for her style at various functions and events, such as the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup Polo Final in which Elle's Perri Tomkiewicz wrote, "It takes a little flair and a lot of audacity to make a polo match ensemble look edgy and it seems that Misshapes DJ Leigh Lezark possesses a good amount of both. ... From the turntables to the turf, this DJ knows how to dress the part."[4]
Filmography
Lezark has guest appeared in season two of Gossip Girl, she appeared as a party guest in episode 20, "Remains of the J". Lezark also appeared in the first episode "I'm Good" of season two of How to Make It in America, she plays a party guest again.
