Kankatapalem is a village Guntur of Andhra Pradesh, India.

Recently, its inhabitants tried growing maize using paddy cultivation. The results were extremely good and the government has taken this village as a role model, and is now planning to implement the same process in other rural areas. Cattle, used for milking, are the main industry in the Mandalam of Bapatla.

The house wife’s are cleansed the earthy courtyard in front of the entrance by sprinkling water commixed with cow dung; the wetness made the ground an inviting khaki canvass for the village damsels to draw, with white flour or lime powder, beautiful ornamental patters, spectacular floral designs delicate tendrils et al. During festivals especially sankranthi a riot of yellow turmeric, red resplendent vermilion and other bright colors enhanced their pulchritude.

For every family they are having their goddess called Devari of their family, this goddess placed in their individual family house called Davarillu. At the time special occasions like marriage and family functions the people of the village go to their devarillu and prey to their goddess.
