Copal Partners is a knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm providing primarily investment banking research services. The company is headquartered in India with commercial offices in United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, Hong Kong, China, Argentina and administrative offices in Mauritius and Channel Islands. The company provides customized services to institutional investors, investment banks, private equity firms and corporations globally. The company is one of the fastest growing KPO [1] and has won a few accolades for its services.

Copal Partners was named as number one KPO company globally in the 2008 edition of Black Book of Outsourcing.[2]. They have also won the prestigious Amity HR Excellence Award 2008 in recognition of the global HR practices incorporated, making themselves a dyanamic and preferred workplace.[3]


History

Copal Partners was established in the year 2002 in Delhi, India by Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman.

Copal got $11 million funding from Merrill Lynch.[4]

In 2011, Moody's Corporation, the holding company for Moody's Investors Service, a global credit rating agency and Moody's Analytics, provider of financial analysis software acquired a majority stake in Copal Partners in a landmark deal.[5]

Senior Management

Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman co-founded Copal Partners in the year 2002 and have put the company on fast track growth.

Rishi Khosla

Mr. Rishi Khosla is currently co-founder and CEO of Copal Partners. Rishi Khosla started his career in banking where he wrote his first paper on the third generation of mobile telephony. He was in the business development team at GE Capital where he co-managed a venture fund. Prior to co-founding Copal Partners, Rishi Khosla worked with Lakshmi Mittal to manage his private investments. It was in this role that he proved his mettle as an investor. His earlier investments were into PayPal and Indiabulls which yielded 6x capital returns.[6] He finally began his entrepreneurial stint in 2002 when he co-founded Copal Partners.[7]

Mr. Khosla holds a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University College London.[8]

Joel Perlman

Joel Perlman is a co-founder of Copal and currently serves as the President. Mr. Perlman setup the research centre in India and is responsible for global service delivery activities. Prior to co-founding Copal Partners, Joel Perlman worked at McKinsey & Company as a consultant. He has a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and holds undergraduate degree with honors in Finance and Philosophy from Georgetown University.[9]
