Sociological Methodology is one of the major peer-reviewed academic journals that publishes papers in the field of sociology. The journal's editor is Tim Liao. It is currently published by SAGE Publications in association with American Sociological Association. It's published annually in August and it focuses on research methods.[1] It has been established in 1969.[2]

Scope

Sociological Methodology aims to cover topics ranging from legal and ethical issues surrounding data collection to the methodology of theory construction. The journal is aimed at all professionals within the sociology field as well as scholars. Sociological Methodology mainly focuses on advances in research in social science methodology.

Sociological Methodology is abstracted and indexed in the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2011 impact factor is 3.000, ranking it 5 out of 137 journals in the category "SOCIOLOGY".[3]
