MoonScoop announced a fifth season titled Code Lyoko: Evolution, consisting of twenty-six episodes of thirteen each, scheduled to air in year 2012 and 2013.

Enjoying their normal lives, Jeremy Belpois, Ulrich Stern, William Dunbar, Odd Della Robbia, Yumi Ishiyama and Aelita Shaffer soon discover that there is trouble still brewing at Kadic Academy. Even worse, they discover that their old and greatest virtual enemy, the evil, sentient artificial intelligence XANA is somehow back and even stronger and more dangerous than ever before, as a highly evolved and modified version of itself. XANA now wants to take back his energy-source codes that were implanted in the minds of Aelita, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi during the time of his supposed "destruction" in order to gain control over the world network once again. After successfully reprogramming the Skidbladnir, Jeremy and the four Lyoko warriors discover another sector called "the Cortex" somewhere on the virtual world of Lyoko. They intend to learn more about this mysterious, ever-changing sector. Meanwhile, William finds himself accepted into the group and aids them in the Cortex.
