The Euroblast Festival is a music festival for Djent, progressive Metal and other experimental styles. In 2008 the Festival took place in Cologne, Germany for the first time, where it is staged still today. According to the organizers the festival is the first one with such focus in Central Europe and at the same time the biggest in the world.[1][2]

Background

The first editions from 2008 to 2010 were one day events held on several dates.[3][4] In 2011 the Euroblast Festival Vol. 7 was held over two days at the club Underground in Cologne.[5] The Euroblast Festival Vol.8 was held over three days at the Live Music Hall and the Underground in Cologne in October, 2012.[6] The Festival features several workshops, a special highlight of the event, where musicians of performing bands reveal their techniques to interested festival visitors. Another notable fact is that concert tickets were sold to over 34 countries. [7] In 2011 and 2012 visitors from Australia, Malaysia, Venezuela USA, Isreal, Japan and most european countries travelled to Germany to attend the festival.[8] [9]
