Delhi Public School, Dhanbad was established in 1988 in collaboration with Bharat Coking Coal Limited. It is an English medium co-educational school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, India. This is one of the schools run by the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi, a non-profit making society. It was inaugurated by Shri.Salman Khurshid.
The name of its second principal was Col.(Retd.) B.R. Sharma, who nurtured the school and took it to great heights. The current principal is K.B. Bhargava, under whom the school has performed extraordinarily well in the past few years. The school is one of the top schools not only in Dhanbad but in Jharkhand state, too.
Location and transport
DPS, Dhanbad is 3 km from the Dhanbad railway station. It is located in Karmik Nagar, in the vicinity of Indian School of Mines. It has its no school buses but other transporting facilities are there. There is no official hostel facility in the school.
