Usage

This template is used to detail the episcopal lineage for an biography of a bishop. Every bishop is consecrated by another bishop, which allows the episcopal succession to be tracked. In an article about a bishop, this table can be placed in an "Episcopal succession" section. See the linked articles below for an example.

date of consecration

The date that the bishop was consecrated.

place of consecration

The church and city where the consecration took place, for example, Westminster Cathedral, London

consecrated by

The bishop that consecrated the article's namesake as a bishop.

co-consecrator1 and co-consecrator2

The names of the co-consecrators of the article's namesake in either order.

bishop 1bishop 20

The name of the bishop that has been consecrated by the article's namesake. Leave blank if not used.

consecration date 1consecration date 20

The date that the bishop was consecrated by the article's namesake. Leave blank if not used.
