socialist vs communist?
Hi Againme. I finally understood your point. I've worked as an editor and writer with Petroni for a long time. We 99.9% of the time use socialist instead of Communist because we feel that that most people associate the word with Stalinism, Maoism and the Soviet Block, USSR, and Red China. Yes we are communists, but rhetoric style changes a bit with the times. Could have said revolutionary Marxist, for the sake of brevity, use socialist and thanks to the McCain, more people are wondering what the word means. Early Edition character article expansion
Thanks for contacting me on my talk page about expanding the article about Early Edition characters. It's great to see a fellow wikipedian interested in improving info about the show. To give you some background, I created the character list because I wanted to emulate the quality work and formatting done on the Prison Break wikipedia page. Unfortunately, I've neglected Early Edition while I've been attempting to raise Ozzie Smith to featured article status. Please feel free to expand the characters list as you see fit, and I'll try to work on it too after I get the episode list finished. Happy editing! Monowi (talk) 04:49, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

the Category "Disambiguation" is not what you think
Thanks for your work creating Dab pages. But please don't tag them as you have been: you'll see, if you look at Category:Disambiguation, that it is not intended for Dab pages. Please use {{Disambig}} instead, which puts them in Category:Disambiguation pages where they belong, and explains to users what in the world the page is there for. Thanks, and i hope you'll continue paying attention to the need for Dab'n!

- Thanks for the thot; i think i got them all.
--Jerzy•t 19:56, 13 November 2008 (UTC) - Funny you should ask: i was thinking yesterday about whether for instance Berlin, NH and Berlin, N.H. are redirects. I think for most editors with the interest, it's worth brainstorming about such classes of article that make the Rdrs likely to be valuable, and focusing on one where they find the subject matter interesting, so that it exposes you to articles on topics that you're interested in, presenting opportunities for mixing the Rdr work with article editing.
In another direction, i frequently listen to NPR while editing, and stop to key in names of people i hear mentioned, to see if their bio exists. Usually it does, but often i've misspelled the name, or under- or over-abbreviated the article title. I always create a Rdr for my first few guesses, and often try to anticipate other readers' first few guesses, and create the missing ones. You'll see my response (intentionally not completely exhaustive) to an extreme case, in my contribs last weekend.

Re "Task done!":
Now, that's a cool thing to have under your belt! I didn't look far, but the first thing i happened on is that that would include Christian Democratic Party (El Salvador), which has a Set Index Article at what Christian Democratic Party Rdr's to. I suppose in that case you found no task beyond looking to see it was done? Curious if you have any observations abt the SIA aspect of the matter.

Monitoring short pages
the template {{longcomment}} is used by a patrolling editor after verifying that the short page being patrolled is OK. Short pages are often created along the lines of "She's my girlfriend and she's great." Many of those are caught by new page patrollers, some are not. The short page patrollers make quick work of those, but also short articles and dab pages or attempts at redirects end up being fixed and monitored and the template is added to that we don't have to look at the same stuff over and over again. Generally, you don't add it to your own work, you let someone else add it. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 21:16, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Article names
Hello Againme, I do not think that you recent moves of various articles about Quebec political parties is consistent with Wikipedia:Naming conventions. I have explained my reasons at Talk:Rally for National Independence. I ask that you stop moving any more articles until this is resolved. Further, I propose to undo all of these moves, but I would like to hear your comments on the issue first. Thank you. Regards, Ground Zero | t 18:19, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Fixing your mistakes
As explained at Talk:Rally for National Independence, you have made numerous page moves of articles relating to Quebec political parties that violate Wikipedia style. please correct your mistakes, rather than leaving them for other people to clean up. Thank you. Ground Zero | t 00:57, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
I have now undone all of the damage that you did and that you refused to clean up yourself. In the future, please do not take up other Wikipedians' time by recklessly making page moves. Ignorance of Wikipedia style and rules does not justify vandalism of this sort. Ground Zero | t 05:30, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- Just and edit to clarify that there was no vandalism of damaging going on from my part.--Againme (talk) 06:32, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- From years of contributions I've seen here, I have great respect for Ground Zero. Vandalism is too strong a term, for me, at this point but I do see his point that upon being informed that such translations are inappropriate and counter to the conventions at Wikipedia, you seemed intransigent about reverting. It seems that you continue to make such translations in other areas as well. If an organisation or other entity is primarily known in English under a foreign language name, it should be found under that name. To create a translation of that name and put the article there, is worse still. I trust, however, that you will refrain from such bold moves and seek to establish a consensus for such changes in the future. Best regards, DoubleBlue (talk) 20:55, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Pronunciation
I guess there are local variables on pronunciation that have nothing to do with the language used. "Houston" is pronounced "house-ton" in Georgia, and correctly. "Thames" is pronounced with the "Th" in Newport, RI, though it is English, and that is correct. No apologies need be made for either pronunciation. So maybe it has nothing to do with the language used. The point is, in an English version of Wikipedia, I don't have to be apologetic about pronouncing the word the way the locals do, which differs from the way the Spanish people now speak that same word. Pronunciation changes over time. There is no way anyone can prove that our pronunciation did not originally match the Spanish which may nave changed. Nor in the Spanish version of Wikipedia, should editors feel necessary to explain that the way they pronounce some word taken from English, "in Spanish." Of course, it is in Spanish! It is their encyclopedia! They only need take care that the pronunciation is accurate for Spaniards. If they pronounce "Lake George" (New York) as "Lake Horhay", that is fine with me as long as it suits most Spaniards. No apologies necessary. Student7 (talk) 18:32, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer.
- I am curious how we know that Spanish is pronounced the same today as it was centuries ago. We know English, for example was spoken so differently from Shakespeare's time to Pope's, that if it were not for the latter, Shakespeare would have been forgotten. Then there's Chaucer. And Johnson's dictionary freezing the spelling just as the pronunciation changed much to pupils everlasting dismay to the present day. Student7 (talk) 23:00, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Nor am I a linguist. But vowel pronunciation change. The worst is Arabic. I heven't heard of any language that changes that rapidly. But all change. Well maybe not Slavic since they consist of "all" consonants! :) Student7 (talk) 23:24, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Interesting
I'm writing here so we don't stray too off-topic on the article talkpage. Well, I used to work in a media as well, but I stopped for a while in order to finish my education. Now, I can understand your concerns, but you really put them in an awful manner to start with. If I have to give my personal view, I'd say media are manipulating no matter if they talk about 1 or 1 mil. victims. But then again - every single life is precious and every single death - tragic. In that line of thought (the one that you should care only when the victims are more than a certain number) is not really humane. In this particular case, besides wiki rules and broad coverage of the subject by international media, you have two more factors, that you might have not been aware of. One the "National mourning" day (which happens to be today btw) and the fact that this accident can have great political and social consequences in the country. With European and national elections coming up this might be a deciding factor. But, nevermind, I'm glad we settled this and I'm open if you wish to discuss any media theories, obscurities etc. Cheers. --Laveol T 21:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

List of insurgent fatality reports in Afghanistan
I wanted to tell you that I removed the infobox from the article, it has no place there, that infobox is specificly for the main article of the war. Also, check other lists of casualties of wars like: List of insurgent fatality reports in Iraq, or List of security forces fatality reports in Iraq, or List of security forces fatality reports in Afghanistan. We don't put infoboxes in those kinds of articles.
Also, the name of the article is List of insurgent fatality reports in Afghanistan. Like the article says - This is a partial list of insurgents killed in the War in Afghanistan. Please don't add the Pakistani Taliban deaths to the list, those are casualties inflicted in a separate war. If you want you can create an article called List of insurgent fatality reports in Pakistan and that can be used in the main article of the War in Pakistan. Hope you listen to my advice friend. Cheers!89.216.234.187 (talk) 20:11, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes I am an established user, I have been working on Wikipedia for almost three years now, it is just that I change my ip every few days. I was the one who actualy created that article you are working on. You may see the war in Pakistan as the same one in Afghanistan, and in essence I agree with you, I totaly agree with you. But those two conflicts are treated as separate wars, one fought between the Afghan branch of the Taliban and NATO and one fought between the Pakistan branch of the Taliban and the Pakistani government. There exist two articles on Wikipedia, War in Afghanistan (2001-) and War in Northwest Pakistan. So my suggestion is this. Again, the name of the article is List of insurgent fatality reports in Afghanistan not Pakistan. I suggest you start an article called List of insurgent fatality reports in Pakistan. I will even help you expand that new article. And then we can use the number we come up with in this new article as a source for the overall number of Pak Taliban killed in the war in Pakistan. What do you say? Is it a deal?89.216.234.187 (talk) 03:36, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Please note that in their above post, this IP editor has just admitted being the indefinitely blocked editor User:Top Gun (User:BobaFett85 who created the List of insurgent fatality reports in Afghanistan article is one of the many sock puppet accounts they've used to try to evade their block). I would suggest that you ignore their attempt to recruit you as a meatpuppet. regards, Nick-D (talk) 11:18, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't lie to you, I was a well known and established user for more than two years up until 10 months ago. Then I was indefinetly blocked by a user with whom I didn't agree on how to construct the South Ossetia war article. He used as an excuse a copy-paste violation, I copy-pasted a text from a news article so I could reword it later on. He used the fact that in my early days as an editor when I still didn't understand the rules I copy-pasted a lot. After I was explained that rule I didn't do it again for more than a year and a half except in that one instant. After that I didn't use registered nicknames anymore. Most administrators knew it was me but let me continue editing because I didn't do any disruptive edits. Then about two months ago I came into conflict with user Nick-D on how to construct the article American forces casualties in the war in Afghanistan, since he found out I was as a registered user an indefinetly baned user he, and only he, started hounding me like I'm an escaped convict to block me at every turn. I have only tried to update numbers of casualties from wars, with references, and have not done any disruptive edits. His accusation that I tried to make you a meatpuppet is unfounded. I only tried to make to you a suggestion on how we can make a specific distinction between the number of Taliban killed in Afghanistan and the number killed in Pakistan. That is all.89.216.236.242 (talk) 18:00, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

- Here's a gesture of good faith on my part. This reference provides the complete number of militants killed in Pakistan by year since 2003 [1], you can use it in the new article. Only 2009 is not included. You could use for 2009 the fact that 1,500 have died in Black Thunderstorm, at least according to the military.89.216.236.242 (talk) 18:14, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

- I was directing the 'meat puppet' term at Top Gun, not you - I suggested that you ignore their attempt (which is related to them trying to evade their indef block) rather that you were in any way a puppet. No offense intended. I'm neither American nor the person who originally blocked Top Gun (and most of their block evading sockpuppet accounts) by the way. Nick-D (talk) 01:20, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello Againme, In April you created the redirect
targeting a section that was added by an IP user and added to by another. The material was never sourced and after sitting with a {{fact}} tag for a couple of months it was removed.
Unless you have some sourced material you wish to add to the article, this redirect now appears useless and misleading. As the author, you can avoid WP:RFD via WP:CSD#G7, tagging it with, perhaps, {{db-author|rationale=redirected to unsourced material which was subsequently removed}}. Tiered warning system
It worked, but... :) Hello. Maybe you didn't know, but there is a tiered system of warning templates that you can use to warn vandals. The tier system starts with gentle nudges and proceeds to more stern messages. Using that system is so effective that most vandals stop long before the fourth warning. There are three additional benefits to using that system. The first, and most important, is that the wording of the lower level warnings are not so stern that they encourage more vandalism. Many will stop vandalizing after one or two warnings and may actually return to make positive contributions to Wikipedia. Secondly, many administrators prefer to see that a vandal had plenty of warning before blocking them. Once a vandal has had four warnings and continues to vandalize, then any administrator is fully justified in blocking the offending vandal. Finally, some popular vandal-fighting scripts are programmed to recognize standard warning templates left on a talk page and automatically apply the next-higher warning. If someone has used a personalized warning, the script doesn't recognize this and starts with the level 1 warning. This in effect lets the vandal get away with five warnings, instead of four, before being blocked. Oh, and the real reason to use the templates -- they're faster to use. Less typing. For instance, to warn a first offender, all you have to type is {{subst:uw-v1}} and the software does the rest for you. You don't even have to remember the formats of the different templates. A handy reference page for warning templates has been created at WP:WARN. Thank you for your vandal-fighting efforts. Hopefully this will make placing appropriate warnings easier and quicker for you. Take care and happy editing! 152.16.16.75 (talk) 11:15, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
- LOL! Hey, your message worked, didn't it? :) Still, the tiered system is easier and quicker to use, and even lets you include a link to the page that was vandalized. Its up to you whether or not you use the templates, but once you get used to them, they are soooo helpful. Happy editing! 152.16.16.75 (talk) 11:27, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Lead paragraph for June 29th
A presidential and parliamentary election to the Palestinian National Authority is intended to be held on some point in the future. The presidential election was supposed to have occurred in early January 2009. Legislative elections were to occur in 2010.[1] The elections could not be celebrated so far due to the intra-Palestinian conflict between Fatah and Hamas.

Jose Rodriguez/José Rodríguez
Hello, Againme.
I see that you moved "Jose Rodriguez (intelligence)" to "José Rodríguez (intelligence)".
Although the new spelling is certainly the usual one in Spanish, and he was born in Puerto Rico, it is also the case that he lives in the United States, and that many residents of the United States drop the diacritics from their names.
As you probably know, Wikipedia policies and guidelines direct us to use the most common names in English-language sources. At least per Google, that's actually the old title, without diacritics ([2]).
So I guess it comes down to how he prefers to write his name. Do you have evidence of which form he uses? SamEV (talk) 23:04, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your response.
I hope you can see the wisdom of Wikipedia's simple rule. By accepting the predominant spelling in English-language sources, whether the verdict of the sources turns out to be wrong or right, ultimately, at least we can show we followed an objective and logical rule. (And remember: each Wikipedia has its own rules.) [And in any case where the personal choice is known, and by our respecting it, we] don't have to guess whether someone is spelling his/her name without diacritics due to [conscious] choice, simple carelessness, or lack of education—It becomes something with which we don't have to concern ourselves. And as for applying the rules of orthography over the personal choices of individuals: how defensible is that, really?
Maybe the thing to do should be to search websites that display scans of material that originally appeared in printed form, for example, Google Books, as well as newspaper and magazine websites. Printed sources tend to have no problem with special characters, so at those websites we get to see the spellings originally used in the printed versions. I suppose that most personal names have appeared in more than a few printed sources, so this should work for most names.
What do you think about that idea? SamEV (talk) 23:17, 24 April 2010 (UTC) [modified 00:00, 26 April 2010 (UTC)]
Hi!
"In conclusion: maybe your proposal is the best available in our unperfect world, but I fear that it could lead to supress most accent marks in names"
You don't have to worry about that, because we'll only use sources that do use diacritics. That way, we can have a high degree of certainty that if a name appears without diacritics in those sources, it's because it's not supposed to [have them], not because they don't use them at all.
I propose that we start assembling a list of high quality newspapers and magazines, to go along with Google Books. What do you think? In fact, we could use sources that are online only, if they also tend to use diacritics.
Obviously, we should do this randomly. I.e., we should not search for "José Rodríguez" in a particular source before we decide to add that source to the list, lest we rig the outcome, right? Instead, we should test each source with names that we're not considering in regards to article titles. We might ask a third person to suggest such names.
Your thoughts? SamEV (talk) 23:13, 26 April 2010 (UTC) [modified 04:14, 28 April 2010 (UTC)]
Hey, I should be getting more work done myself!
I think the most objective way to compile the list should be to simply grab the list of the top sources by circulation. For example, the top 10 newspapers and the top 10 magazines, in terms of circulation. If any newspaper in the top 10 doesn't use diacritics, we examine the 11th on the list. If it doesn't either, we look at the 12th, and so on, until we have the 10 highest-circulation newspapers that use diacritics. Likewise with the magazines.
WP has lists of circulation. Check out List of newspapers in the world by circulation and List of magazines by circulation. Many of those non-US sources are in English, and for the sake of a worldwide perspective I guess we ought to have some of them on our list.
So, if circulation is OK with you, let me know and I'll compile the list, which you should be able to verify. If you want to suggest a different criterion or method, please do! SamEV (talk) 04:14, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
How's it going?
BTW, you may have noticed that using a pre-existing list removes the need for a third party to suggest test names. SamEV (talk) 23:04, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Hi! The cupacabras in India, references please?
Hi Againme..
I am trying to obtain the dates and issues of the local newspapers here from the last week on.
They are taking time to locate it since its almost 13 years back.(1997)
I am co-ordinating with them and trying to get updates as soon as possible.
Initially I was not in favor of putting the reference there without the newspaper articles, but I thought I could at least make aware of anyone browsing it that the chupacabra problem was or is not indigenous only to Puerto Rico or the U.S. Though the wounds are dry and healed in the minds, there is still a generation of people in my state here who vividly remember 1997 for its strange events. I sometimes wonder how the global or for that matter the Indian national media could overlook such a panicked population in an entire state.
Anyway I shall get those references ASAP.
If you feel it is better to put the location name only backed with references or proof, I say go ahead .
Better to present all facts and locations properly than to stimulate rumors.

Moving big rocks
Hi,
Veeeeery interesting question, isn't it? The Romans managed to move a 300+ ton obelisk (in one piece? I must ask) by barge to Rome. WP's now got a picture of what it took to set up in 1586AD (Saint_Peter's_Square). The obelisk article says that took "nearly 1000 men, 140 carthorses, 47 cranes." But when bigshots give orders, stuff moves. Oh, and it had to be exorcised first.
Moving stuff 3 times that size 1000 years earlier? Since I'm an amateur, I might guess about wheels, since they'd been around since 3000BC. But that might upset many old guys with beards, and people who dream of levitation. Twang (talk) 21:43, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Arab citizens of Israel
Please read the first footnote, and related source. "The Israeli Nationality Law came into effect on 14 July 1952. Between Israel's declaration of independence on 14 May 1948 and the passage of this bill four years later, there technically were no Israeli citizens. In this article, the term "Arab citizen" is used to refer to the Arab population in Israel, even in the period after the 1949 armistice agreement and before the passage of the Nationality Law in 1952." This makes it clear that the phrase is commonly, and deliberately, used to refer to people who were residents but not citizens; Israeli Jews, too, were technically not citizens in this period. Critic to page moving
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Harthacnut, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hello. This piece is about the American newsweekly. It has one bureau in Buenos Aires. (Frankly, it wouldn't want to shell out the money for two.) Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Spanish profanity. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Additionally, please read WP:NPA: comment on edits and not editors. --moreno oso (talk) 15:15, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- I did not add anything!!! --Againme (talk) 15:16, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Spanish profanity. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --moreno oso (talk) 15:17, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- There is no controversy. This article has standed without references for this word for years.--Againme (talk) 15:21, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
This is the final warning you will receive regarding your disruptive comments.
If you continue to make personal attacks on other people as you did at Spanish profanity, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Your edit summaries are very uncivil. I suggest you provide standard edit summaries. --moreno oso (talk) 15:34, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

- Hello, Againme.
- This is in regards to Spanish profanity. I just want to remind you that when challenged to source content that you add, you should do so, rather than insisting it stay simply because there's other unsourced content in the article. The previous content is by no means safe from challenge, but at least it forms part of the article's stable version.
- Anyway, thank you for adding the source, and good luck. SamEV (talk) 22:39, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Re:Hi!
The short answer is that every usage of a non-free image must confirm with our non-free content criteria, and the basic objection here is criterion 8. While an image of a cryptid does add significantly to the article on the cryptid and can probably be used (provided it meets the other criteria), there is a longstanding consensus that using non-free content to identify/illustrate entries in lists like that does not meet NFCC#8. We also have this guideline on non-free content in lists, but that doesn't really apply to a list of this sort. Basically, that list article should only use free images. List of scientific Misanthropes
First. Thank you for your corrections.
I always expect my edits to be treated in a Mythanthropic (misanthropic) manner which can lead to many Mythunderstandings (misunderstandings).
It seems that we have our own crypto-puzzle to sort out here. Or should we leave it to the realms of the Mythtaken (mistaken) people who believe that Mythakes (mistakes) are not possible on such a well known and well travelled site such as one with these themyths. (themes - I know, it's crap but it kinda fits).
Ok. Is this a genuine error or should I get all mythty-eyed (misty-eyed) over an Easter Bunny waiting to hatch.
Seriously, I'd like to know.
And again, thank you for your corrections. I spend a lot of time trying to find non-crypto refs (news reports and the like) so a few things pass me by. With all of our combined efforts, we can make this a viable portal again.

en-dashes
You have misunderstood. The following are different things:
- A - B
- A – B
If you click on "edit", you will see that NEITHER of them is "spelled out". The first is a hyphen. The second is an en-dash. WP:MOS says the en-dash rather than the hyphen is to be used in certain contexts. Thus
- John Xmith (1842-1915)
is wrong, but
- John Xmith (1842–1915)
is right. You can achieve the second form either by spelling out the word endash preceded by an ampersand and followed by a hyphen, or else by using the version you see here that's not "spelled out". Either way, the hyphen, which is shorter than an en-dash, is incorrect. In Ogopogo, I changed a hyphen to an en-dash. 24.118.123.34 (talk) 17:28, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Winston's Hiccup
Winston's Hiccup in this wiki article is most likely located in Jordan's southeast (or east-southeast) because there is also an online article mention of Wadi Sirhan--that lies in Saudi Arabia. The Hiccup supposedly created a large triangle shaped area of Saudi territory and this is where Southwest Jordan is located. Frankly, this is one of the strange ways that the colonial powers drew the map in the 19th and 20th century.
- The British united Arab North Sudan and African South Sudan before giving Sudan independence in 1956 and only now is that mess being fixed after decades of civil war and civilian deaths. The Arabs and black Africans never liked each other in the first place. Iraq is another artificial British creation with Sunni, Shiite Arabs and Kurds unhappily living together.

Hi. The OST, PST and MST are just different names of different stages of history of the same. Thus a link from MST article to the OST article, rather than going through with merger, becomes a circular reference. Regarding names, please check and give input at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (political parties). Completely new abortion proposal and mediation
In light of the seemingly endless disputes over their respective titles, a neutral mediator has crafted a proposal to rename the two major abortion articles (pro-life/anti-abortion movement, and pro-choice/abortion rights movement) to completely new names. The idea, which is located here, is currently open for opinions. As you have been a contributor in the past to at least one of the articles, your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
The hope is that, if a consensus can be reached on the article titles, the energy that has been spent debating the titles of the articles here and here can be better spent giving both articles some much needed improvement to their content. Please take some time to read the proposal and weigh in on the matter. Even if your opinion is simple indifference, that opinion would be valuable to have posted.
To avoid concerns that this notice might violate WP:CANVASS, this posting is being made to every non-anon editor who has edited either page (or either page's respective talk page) since 1 July 2010, irrespective of possible previous participation at the mediation page. Speedy deletion nomination of Broken rifle
A tag has been placed on Broken rifle, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 18:01, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Talk:Pero (beverage)
A tag has been placed on Talk:Pero (beverage), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. and concluding with current pope Xxxxx, a pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman",
The article Либерално-Демократска Партија has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- DAB page with implausible title for English language Wikipedia
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Haruth (talk) 02:59, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive update
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter. Participation: We have had 58 people sign up for this drive so far, which compares favorably with our last drive, and 27 have copy-edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: Our target of completing the 2010 articles has almost been reached, with only 56 remaining of the 194 we had at the start of the drive. The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far. Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. This work has helped make the drive a more pleasant experience for all our volunteers. GOCE March drive wrap-up
Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! This is the most successful drive we have had for quite a while. Here is your end-of-drive wrap-up newsletter. Participation Of the 70 people who signed up for this drive, 40 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Special acknowledgement goes out to Lfstevens, who did over 200 articles, most of them in the last third of the drive, and topped all three leaderboard categories. You're a superstar! Stfg and others have been pre-checking the articles for quality and conformance to Wikipedia guidelines; some have been nominated for deletion or had some preliminary clean-up done to help make the copy-edit process more fun and appealing. Thanks to all who helped get those nasty last few articles out of the target months. Progress report During this drive we were successful in eliminating our target months—October, November, and December 2010—from the queue, and have now eliminated all the 2010 articles from our list. We were able to complete 500 articles this month! End-of-drive results and barnstar information can be found here. When working on the backlog, please keep in mind that there are options other than copy-editing available; some articles may be candidates for deletion, or may not be suitable for copy-editing at this time for other reasons. The {{GOCEreviewed}} tag can be placed on any article you find to be totally uneditable, and you can nominate for deletion any that you discover to be copyright violations or completely unintelligible. If you need help deciding what to do, please contact any of the coordinators. Thank you for participating in the March 2012 drive! All contributions are appreciated. Our next copy-edit drive will be in May. Good progress is being made on the overall backlog as well, with over 500 articles copy-edited during the drive so far. The total backlog currently sits at around 3200 articles. The article Russell Harley has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Cloudz679 12:08, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for November 6
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Helicopter hieroglyphs, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Abydos (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Prince Tito Friedrich Hans Andreas Alnwick of Hesse has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- As we have already decided his father is not notable this 4-year-old child cannot be notable either.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PatGallacher (talk) 12:28, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Chariots of the Gods?
I removed "see out-of-place artifact)" as inappropriate. We have 'See also' sections for this, and it was already there. Dougweller (talk) 14:54, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've replied on my talk page, but that's not what our guidelines say - there's be no point in a see also section. Please try to change the guidelines before you do this again. Dougweller (talk) 15:04, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

IN RESPONSE TO UFO COMMENT
If you look at history, dating prior to the 20th century, you'll notice whether on 1. cave markings 2. ancient stone writings, to 3. paintings and even literature cite phenomena than seem to imply what in our time we term "ufo". Having said that you are correct this last century has given us a great amount of info, and it may or may not stop. In the endwe certainly are not the only living and inteligent beings in this galaxy, so the question becomes not "if" but "when" will we have CONTACT, or have we already? Thanks for your comment--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 23:41, 2 January 2013 (UTC
Ancient astronauts like todays "ufo" cannot be taken 100% true, but even if 5 % istrue then you have ,,,,,,possibility, and thats all you need.--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 00:02, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- Againme, sorry to respond to another person on your talk page (remove this message if desired) but Ozzie, I am the primary author of (with much help from the editing community) Wikipedia's article on the cultural impact of extraterrestrial contact and I can tell you that from this and related research, that while it is widely accepted that there is intelligent life within our galaxy, and while extraterrestrial probes and artifacts within our Solar System are being seriously considered as means of contacting humans, that only a small percent of UFO stories have no likely explanation that is of terrestrial origin.
I'm nobody to deny the existence of other intelligent life (there are probably hundreds of such species in our galaxy), and this life may have visited Earth in the past, but I don't think they would directly show themselves to humans in their current and past pathetic states of civilization, let alone influence their culture. Wer900 • talk 01:32, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately , there I would disagree,,,,,,the airspace , and air controllers around one of the busiest airports in the US (if not the world) cannot afford to have an unknown on there screen http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/24/chicago-ohare-ufo-leslie-_n_692515.html........this link indicates at the begining of the article the state of mind of pilots and other professionals when they saw the object in question.--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:48, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

Rulers of Sparta
Just a heads-up; you've listed most of the recent Spartan rulers you created in the category Category:3rd-century BC Greek people, and I don't think they all fit. Just wanted to let you know. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 21:58, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- My pleasure. I hit a few of 'em, but may have made more of a hash than I realized; the ancient world isn't my strong suit, I'm afraid. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 22:03, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Abdication vs Resignation
I won't argue - but please try to discuss the matter. I think now it's bad - because information in Papal resignation contradicts Abdication - and it looks messy. I think that one version for both articles (for example A. is used for historical papacies (until Y century) and from them on proper term is R. or longer information) shall be included. (Well - mostly because there's also theological argument (I don't think we should treat Pope now as "standard" elected monarch..., at least not after 1870).
Also - using "I'm an XXX with YYY years of experience in ZZZ" is not a good argument in internet... - as it is most of the time impossible to confirm. More important for me is that you are a wikipedian with long experience and many edits - which means that you know what are you doing. ;) I won't edit it further - but please - discuss the matter for the sake of internal consistency of those two articles.
