Giorgos Katidis (Template:Lang-gr; born on 12 February 1993, in Greece), is a Greek footballer, currently playing for AEK Athens F.C. in the Greek Superleague, as a Central Midfielder.

Club career

Aris

In 2010 Héctor Cúper took him to Aris first team. In 2010–2011 season, he played 3 consecutive matches. In 2011–2012, Michal Probierz and Manuel Machado continued to involve him in the first team.

In February 2012, Katidis went to a 3-day trial with Everton F.C.. In his first training with Everton, Katidis participated in the team match and scored.

AEK Athens

On the 27/8/12 Katidis signed a 4-year contract with AEK Athens which will keep him at the club until 2016. AEK Athens and his former club Aris FC agreed on a 200K transfer fee.[2] Katidis chose to wear the shirt number 8, which was previously worn by AEK Athens legend Toni Savevski. On 1 September 2012, Giorgos made his debut against Skoda Xanthi as a substitution playing for 35 minutes.

National Team

He is the captain of U-19 Greek national team. Before he played several matches in U-17, having scored twice against Ireland's team (Greece-Ireland 3-0/18-3-2010). With the U-19 he scored against Slovakia, helping the team to participate in final phase of 2011 U-19 European Championship. On July 23, 2011 he scored an astonishing volley in the defeat against Ireland.
