Skylanders: Swap Force is an upcoming platformer video game developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision. It is the third main game in the Skylanders video game and toy franchise, following 2012's Skylanders: Giants, and will be released in Q3/Q4 2013 for various formats, worldwide and Square-Enix will publish the game for the Japanese marketing around 2014.
Gameplay
Gameplay carries on from previous games, in which players use a portal to bring real-life collectible figures of the titular Skylanders into their game. The game is compatible with all the Skylanders from Spyro's Adventure and Giants, and all characters now have the ability to jump. Along with sixteen new core characters, Swap Force introduces sixteen new Swap Force characters, featuring characters such as Wash Buckler and Magna Charge. These characters are each made up of two individual parts that can be interchanged to create up to 256 different combinations. For example, players can combine the top half of Wash Buckler with the bottom half of Magna Charge to create Wash Charge, which combines Wash Buckler's water element and cutlasses with Magna Charge's speed. There are also elemental zones throughout levels which grant bonus abilities to Skylanders of a certain type. Alongside the new Swap-Force skylanders, two new regular sized skylanders have been revealed: Roller brawl (Undead), and Countdown (Tech). Another 4 Swap Force charecter were announced: Blast Zone (Fire) Freeze Blade (Water) Night Shift (Undead) and Stink Bomb (Life).[1][2]
