† 2013 Big Ten tournament winner Rankings from AP Poll |
The 2012–13 Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team represents Indiana University in the 2012–13 college basketball season. Their head coach is Tom Crean, in his fifth season with the Hoosiers. The team plays its home games at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana, and is a member of the Big Ten Conference.
Preseason
The Hoosiers ended the 2011-12 season highly ranked and expected to re-join the elite programs of college basketball. An early Top-25 poll by numerous media outlets and analysis ranked the team No. 1 in the country, including ESPN,[1] USA Today,[2] NBC,[3] and Sports Illustrated.[4]
Some of the team's preseason accolades were attributable to the five-man recruiting class in 2012 consisting of Yogi Ferrell, Hanner Perea, Jeremy Hollowell, Peter Jurkin, and Ron Patterson. The group has been called "The Movement".
