G. W. Pierce → George W. Pierce – There are two possibilities: George W. Pierce or George Washington Pierce. Both names are commonly used, but when looking at Google search and Google book search, the first has more hits and my motivation to suggest this move. Mild Support - going by Google Books actual references (excluding simply bibliography and index hits) George W. has it. "G.W., as he was affectionately known to collegues and students alike", carries some weight if print sources also use the initials, but collegues and students alike are made of living tissue and therefore fail WP:IRS.
