Buford High School is a public four year comprehensive high school located in Buford, Georgia USA, in the northern Metro Atlanta area.
History
The school was opened in 1948. In 2009, Buford was awarded a silver for Highest Percentage of Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards. The award is given by the State of Georgia Governor's Office of Achievement. The school has a student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1.[citation needed]
Academics
The school, for the 2010-2011 school year, had the highest passing rate in the Georgia Graduation Test with 96% passing. Buford also ranks in the top 6% of students who pass AP courses.

The Theatre Department won the first One Act Play state championship in school history in 2011 for a performance of "Sweeney Todd."[citation needed]
